Porsche Classic was in attendance at the world's largest classic car show in Essen from March 21 to 25, 2012.The Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG department responsible for the repair, maintenance and restoration as well as the supply of genuine parts for classic Porsche road vehicles presented its comprehensive range of services at a stand that had more than doubled in size this year.
The main focus was on the legendary 911 Carrera RS, which turns 40 in 2012.To mark this occasion, Porsche displayed two racing versions of the 911 Carrera RS from the Porsche Museum.The 911 Carrera RSR from 1973 delivers 330 hp. The ultimate RS variant from 1974, the 911 Carrera RSR Turbo, which has two metre-wide rear wings, produces an incredible 500 hp.The special 911 Carrera RS 40th birthday celebrations were completed by the presentation of a 911 Carrera RS 2.7, which was restored by the specialists in the Porsche Classic workshop.
A special highlight were also the Classic spare parts, which were displayed in a high shelving system as well as the iPad station, where visitors could test their knowledge of Porsche Classic.
Of course, Porsche Exclusive & Tequipment once again featured at the 600 square metres stand.The extensive range of personalisation options was presented using a personalised 911 Carrera from the current 991 model line.Interested parties were then able to receive advice at the mobile Fitting Lounge, or put together their individual dream vehicle. Porsche Driver's Selection rounded off the Porsche stand offering with a large selection of Porsche accessories.
